That Flipping Game!
March 5, 2025
Walruses? We got that. Rabbits and raccoons? Got’em. Monkeys? Check! 🐒 ✔️
✨That Flipping Game✨ — our 100% free Made in Canada mini-game is now live in the Google Play Store! Download and play! Don’t have an Android device? You can still also play it on PC, using the Google Play Games beta platform.
What do you do?
It’s a memory game. You flip over cards and match pairs of cute animals. New animals are revealed and added to the game as you go.
How much is it?
It’s free.
Are there ads?
Nope.
Does it ask me to buy stuff?
Nope.
What’s the catch?
I wanted to make something nice that brings happiness and asks nothing in return. Mwahahaha… Gotcha!
Can I lose?
Only if you are hard on yourself grasshopper.
Will I think about the world’s problems while I’m playing?
Probably not. Some problems are big, but cute animals are pretty distracting. Fight fire with water.
What kind of animals are in it?
I’m glad you asked! All kinds. I drew them many years ago, when I was teaching myself how to use a drawing tablet. So it is a motley little crew. I like drawing fur, so that’s kind of the common theme. I can’t really explain the walrus though.
I’ve played it and I like it! How can I get more games?
Yay!! The best way to support us is to share it. More people downloading it convinces the robots to put it places people will see it. If people seem to like it, we’ll make more!
I noticed something wrong with it!
Great! Please tell me so I can fix it for v2.
What’ll be in v2?
I have lots of ideas! Maybe new habitats, food, treasures, or fun animal facts. Here’s one about chimpanzees:
“The ethologist Adriaan Kortlandt once observed a wild chimpanzee gazing at a particularly beautiful sunset for a full fifteen minutes, until darkness fell.”
Can I play it on my PC?
Yup! It’s part of the Google Play Games beta program. Install Google Play Games, and you can find it by searching for “That Flipping Game”.
Is it on iOS?
Maybe someday? Before I got Neil involved (who knows all the codes, and built it a custom engine), I made it for myself on Android, and wrote the gameplay in Java, because it’s the language I know best. Everything else has been gravy. But I like gravy. If y’all want an iOS version, we could make one for you.
Is that everything?
Yup! Which is good, because I think I’ve maxxed out this blog’s character limi
